2024 Sickle Cell Town Meeting

The Heart of Gold Sickle Cell Foundation of Northern Virginia and the Inova Schar Adult Sickle Cell Center, invite you to our upcoming town meeting.

Time: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

In honor of Sickle Cell Awareness Month, this town meeting aims to unite sickle cell advocates, county service and program agencies, and the lnova Adult Sickle Cell Center to foster partnerships and raise awareness about sickle cell disease, the sickle cell trait, and the importance of blood donations from people of color.
Attendees can look forward to an engaging program featuring a variety of speakers, presentations, dinner, entertainment, and door prizes.

Please join us for a night of support, networking, education, entertainment, and a dinner. This will be a great opportunity to connect with vendors and community organizations.

• Keynote Address on Gene Therapy by Dr. Elizabeth Kreiger from VCU
• Inspiring Poetry Reading by Fairfax County’s Father Engagement, Bennie Heron
• VDH Initiatives Presentation by Marcus Allen, Program Director for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Program
• Insightful Presentation on ASH DMV Consortium Efforts for Sickle Cell Disease Care, by Dr. Drew Campbell
