Candis King Sickle Cell Awareness Memorial Walk

The Heart of Gold Sickle Cell Foundation of Northern Virginia is honored to partner with the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for the Candis King 1.5-Mile Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Memorial Walk and Community Blood Drive.
Please join us as we celebrate the life and lasting legacy of Candis King, their Forever Delta GEM, while raising awareness about sickle cell disease, encouraging lifesaving blood donations, and connecting families with education, screenings, advocacy, and community resources.

The event will include a celebration of Candis’ life, a 1.5-mile memorial walk, an American Red Cross blood drive, sickle cell trait screenings, educational resources, and opportunities to meet community partners.
September is both Candis’ birth month and National Sickle Cell Awareness Month. Together, we can honor her memory, increase awareness, support families affected by sickle cell disease, and help save lives through blood donation.
