Black History Month Blood Drive.

Pay homage to the past, shape the future. This Black History Month, join us in giving the gift of life through blood donation. By honoring our ancestors’ resilience, we can build a healthier, brighter tomorrow for everyone.

Due to the genetic variations associated with ethnicity, finding a close genetic match for blood transfusions becomes critical. Patients with sickle cell disease have a higher chance of finding compatible donor matches within their own ethnic community. This underscores the importance of encouraging African Americans and people of color to donate blood.

In collaboration with Inova Blood Services and Inova Adult Sickle Cell Center, we have organized a blood drive to kick off African American History Month. Donating blood during this month gives us an opportunity to show the strength of our community and make a tangible difference in the lives of sickle cell patients.
